Jared Muenks is the founder and visionary behind Freestyle. Although athletics and exercise have been a large part of his life, his work in this field stemmed from a life-altering injury that led to a reconstruction of his values and understanding of health. No longer was health just a physical aspect, but a multidimensional one. Jared quickly learned that the human experience was very complex, and to live the best possible life, it would take incorporating values from many different domains of education and research as well as application. Jared believes in maximizing human potential. He believes that people can invest in themselves through an optimized lifestyle of Mental, Physical, Social, and Spiritual development. Jared does not believe in perfection, he believes in potential. Through training, education, and meaningful application, one can become more effective, competent, resilient, and skilled in all domains of life, becoming the best person that they can be.
Hello, My name is Lyndie Costello and I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 200 hour with Yoga Alliance and I have received training for Yoga and Neurodiverse clients and Yoga for Larger Bodies. I grew up as a nonathletic child, teenager, and young adult. Falling into many of the unhealthy traps of the 1980s and '90s. I found yoga and running as a way to control my weight when I was struggling with it in my early 30's and learned just how many ways yoga was able to benefit me beyond just on the scale. Although, 50 pounds lighter, it made a difference on the scale too! Through the good times, illnesses and surgeries of the last 10 years, yoga has helped me to recover and grow strong. I used yoga along with physical therapy to recover after reconstructive ankle tendon surgery to help build strength and mental fortitude when my other outlet for fitness and mental clarity of running became no longer an option. Life's ups and downs always pull me in many directions and finding the mindful practices of yoga and meditation have helped me to know who I am and what I want out of life in ways I couldn't comprehend when I started this journey. In 2018 I had major abdominal surgery; my healthcare professional allowed me to utilize Chair Yoga during this recovery. This was just the focus I needed to see how much benefit yoga can bring to many different students who wouldn't think that yoga was for them. Yoga helped me to listen to what my body truly needs. I teach from many practices of yoga, using easy to understand directionf From Active Vinyasa Flow, Forrest Yoga techniques and many other modalities, we will find the postures and flow that works for you, your body and goals. My passion is to use my knowledge of yoga to help empower all audiences to utilize peaceful properties to calm, stretch and strengthen their bodies and minds. I started my fitness journey during my senior year of college. I started to gain weight and my dance technique was suffering and I was having trouble keeping up with the other dancers. Several of my friends were working out at the gym a few times a week and I was curious about starting a workout routine. The only problem was I had never used gym equipment and I had no idea what I was doing! After attempting to workout on my own for a couple of weeks I decided to hire a personal trainer to teach me how to use the equipment, design a workout, and correct my form. I started working with my trainer twice a week and saw drastic improvement! Not only did I have a ton of fun I also lost weight, became stronger, had more endurance, and my dancing started to improve again. Inspired by my trainer I became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer in 2013. At the time I only intended to be a Personal Trainer part-time but I wasn’t done with my journey yet. My passion for health and wellness started a few years earlier when I was 16. I had asthma, severe allergies, chronic infections, and chronic migraines (an average of 2 a month). After reaching a dead-end with doctors who couldn’t figure out why I was chronically ill or come up with a treatment plan that helped I started to seek out alternative care. I started seeing a chiropractor, learned about holistic nutrition, acupuncture, and the chemicals in everyday products. I went from eating a traditional American Midwest diet, relying on my steroid inhaler, and using conventional cleaning and personal care products to eating an all-organic diet of whole foods, using chemical-free plant-based products in my home and using alternative care as my main treatment. The result? I cured my migraines, no longer use an inhaler, rarely have allergy symptoms, and no more chronic infections! This is why I incorporate nutrition and lifestyle coaching with my personal training practice. Helping people make healthier eating choices and reducing their exposure to chemicals can have a positive impact in their ability to recover from exercise, have more energy, get better sleep, and help alleviate symptoms that interfere with their daily lives.
